turn your back.

The only things that get to us, are the things we let get to us. Never let yourself feel sorry for yourself for more than five minutes a day, and when heartbreak threatens to break you, write him a letter. Say:

Dear Old Friend Heartbreak,
We meet yet again. This time drop dead. I win. And I'm stronger than this pain.
  signed:
a girl who has learned what love isn't.

Polaroids.

You're this washed out Polaroid
That I could never truly grasp.
You're this frame by frame memory
That my camera just can't catch.

You're the feeling I can't ignore
Can't open my scrapbook anymore,
There's a broken heart,
And an open door,
That I wish these tears could close,
You left me with this heartbreak song,
And the thoughts I have to pose.

You're this washed out Polaroid
That I could never truly grasp
You're this frame by frame memory
That my camera just can't catch.

With each tear I try to hold,
With each picture that grows old,
You become a still lover,
Distant stained memories,
Simple Polaroids & used to be's.

masters of disguise.

Mask. Yes there's the tribal and masquerade ball masks. But what about the one's that aren't physical. The ones you can't see with your eyes, but sometimes with your heart. I say this because today I learned some very disturbing news about a teacher I've had for some years now. I don't want to disturb you as much as I was disturbed with what he did, but I just wanted you all to know, you never who people truly are. Sometimes you never even find out. What I can tell you is sometimes people build there whole reputation and lives on this false molding, a mask, and the only things we'll ever know about them is what they give us.

Deception, disgust, and more than anything sorrow for all the students who confided in him with their problems and stories, just to find he was never who he really claimed. I will leave my readers with this as a lesson to carry in your hearts for the rest of your life: What is in the dark will always come to the light, and closets can only hold so many skeletons, before you have to bury them and move on. The person that will scare you the most is yourself, and it takes more courage to face your demons in the dark than to make up personalities in the light. Hiding from all the things that are wrong with you, they are a part of you, and if you can not face them, you're coward. And you'll die in cowardice. Face yourself, brace yourself, and open your closet.

-one love.

written frm the heart, sealed with a kiss.

Dear Lacunas in My Bibelots and Memos Readers,
This is a special post to a very special person that is very close to my heart. Damon W. Blocker. Many people know him as Blockhead, Flocka Blocka, Blocker, or my personal favorite "Damn with an O". Any who, he is turning 1* years old this week. I just wanted everyone to know that I love him very much and for the last year that I have known him he has made me smile and laugh and made me a better person.
Happy Birthday my dear friend and big brother Damon. I love you. :)
ps. visit his blog!  http://www.flockablocka.blogspot.com/

A lesson for everyone:
there will come few times in your life that you will find people that literally make your soul smile. Hold close to those people and never forge those bonds.

-one love.

the "f" word.

forever

[fawr-ev-er, fer-]
–adverb
1. without ever ending; eternally: to last forever.
2. continually; incessantly; always: He's forever complaining.
–noun
3. an endless or seemingly endless period of time: It took them forever to make up their minds.

4. forever and a day, eternally; always: They pledged to love each other forever and a day.

so many definitions that mean absolutely nothing to ME. So people get mad when people throw around hate and love, love and hate, and everything else. But if I were people, I would be more worried about throwing those around. "Mary & John Forever." What?! Like where in the fine print of life does it say anything is allowed to last FOREVER. I'm talking never-ending, every second, no fin.  No.
I know you want me to say something real deep that will stick to your minds in hearts forever. but I'm not into the "f" word very much. So here it goes:

the rain will dry,
the smiles will fade,
the book will turn,
page by page,
the gun will fire,
the frogs will leap,
and you my love,
my heart thou shall keep,
but not forever.

days will long,
my eyes will close,
seasons change,
from friends to foes,
you have my heart,
and have the key,
and you will have this part of me,
but not forever.

so now has come,
and then has gone,
tracks are played,
& now new songs,
no such thing as always,
or eternal endeavors,
no key to infinity,
surely no forever.

all good things must come to end,
even love,
and heartfelt friends,
so I must never think that far ahead,
I shall never venture into forever's venue,
instead I'll live as:
to be continued....

get ya back up off the wall.

"How ya gonna know if ya never gonna take the chance, by just standing on the wall." I have never been one to regret, because I have never been one to be standing on the wall. If you live your life in fear of what other people think, when they usually don't care for more than three seconds, who's life are you living anyway? This is our one life, and our one chance to get it right, or enjoy every second of getting it wrong. I've witnessed so many people who spend their lives fading into the background. The greatest fulfillment in life is to know that you could die tomorrow and you would have learned to love yourself, learned to love somebody, anybody else, and learned from at least one fall, mistake, or fuck up you've ever made.  "How ya gonna know if ya never gonna take the chance, by just standing on the wall."  So if ya fail, so be it, if ya lose, so be it, if ya bet it all and get a bad hand, so be it. But:
"if ya never try,
then you'll never know if you can fly or fall,
so get 'cha back up of the wall." :)
